A Different Kind of Ending

A Different Kind of Ending

This is a different kind of post for a different kind of school year. Like most teachers, my last day of school is usually filled with laughter, popsicles, games, and a hug at the door. This year, however, ended remotely on Zoom after a brief scavenger hunt and kid-made goodbye posters each student held up to the screen. It felt strangely anticlimactic saying goodbye to my students this way, especially when the hug at the door was replaced with pressing an end meeting for all button.

I felt the need to communicate with my students in a way that would ease my own disappointment that I could not be with them. So, I sat at my computer for a long time. And this final project emerged. If you have a few minutes to watch, here’s My Wish for You 2020 - a video reflection of favorite book characters with whom we adventured and learned valuable life lessons.

Best,

Catherine
